This painting depicts my backyard where deer visit on a daily basis. Not too long ago after cutting down & thinning out some Yupon holly (a TX native tree) with my trusty chainsaw, I left some of the trees where they lay with the beautiful red berries from the top of the trees which were now on the ground pointing to the back of my yard. The next morning about 7, I peeked out hoping the trees which I needed to cut up were gone but instead a beautiful buck was feasting on the berries. What a sight - it was an early morning treat for both of us.
