This was commissioned by an individual who loves the concept of Mexico's The Day of the Dead celebration. Before beginning the painting, I visited San Miguel de Allende, MX during the celebration Dia de Los Muertos for inspiration. As I painted each person, he/she became real with their own story. The skeletons depicted are visiting relatives of those present in the painting. I painted myself as a purple skeleton with an artist's palette in my hand. My client is also depicted behind his gravestone marked LB.
